In this day and age everyone needs a side hustle to help keep their finances in afloat. Some people do lawn care or clean houses on the weekends, while others turn to the internet to pull some extra income in, but the fact remains that almost everyone is feeling the pressure of the current economic situation and are turning to side hustles to maintain a level of comfort ability. If you are wondering what a side hustle is, a side hustle is a gig(hustle) that is outside of you normal line/day of work. It is something extra you do to help fill the gap that your normal job/line of work cannot. There are many different types of side hustles. I will cover some of the more popular ones.

Seasonal lawn care

A seasonal side hustle may be very profitable, but at the same time very limited due to the fact that is reliant upon if it is needed due to the season changes. Almost everyone at one point or another needs a good lawn care service. It is very common for people with an average size lawn to pay $20- $30 per cut. If you are willing to cut 10 lawns a day that is an extra $200- $300 in your pocket form your side hustle. In some cases your side hustle may provide more income than your actual job.

Blogging

Blogging is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, because of the riches that may be attained for those that become experts at it. Blogging is not something that is rather new, while at the same time is not an age old trade. The beauty of blogging is that there many different ways to blog and topics to blog about. The second beauty of blogging is that your blog can be as BIG or as small as you want it to be. It is also totally up to you and your efforts. With Blogging being such a growing field there are multiple free resources available to help you along your blogging journey.

Home Cleaning service

A home cleaning service is very easy to start, and also very easy to manage. All you need is a few staple cleaning products, a strong work ethic, and a area that needs your service. The beauty of a home cleaning service is that if you do a great job you are very well likely to land a referral or two from you current customers. This is a perfect side hustle for a college student. Whether you are cleaning dorm rooms or homes you could produce a nice side income with a home cleaning service. If you were to charge $25 per hour you could pull in an extra $400 on a weekend.

Almost any hobby can be turned into a side hustle, and as long as we have a down economy and ambitious people there will always be side hustles.

I guess I disagree with the statement that everyone needs a side hustle to keep their finances afloat. I do things on the side, but for now, they’re all costing me money, not bringing anything in.

I got a kick out of that picture above. If that guy’s not working a side hustle, I don’t know who is :)

There are certainly plenty of things out there that you can do for a side hustle. They do fill in gaps, but they can also help you to get ahead or just plain make extra money while having fun too.
