If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Welcome to the 2012 blogging updates for Money Is The Root.  Just as last year, I will provide weekly updates on my site statistics, blogging income, and intended goals for the short and long term.  These posts will provide ongoing updates regarding my progress on my five blogs, and perhaps more in the near future, as well as achieving $30,000 in online income this year.  Feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions, or even comments as to features you would like to see on the site going forward.  Enjoy!

Site Stats:

  • Pagerank = 2
  • Mozrank = 4.57
  • Alexa = 136,079
  • Facebook Likes = 307 (-2 from last week)
  • Twitter Followers = 559 (no change from last week)
  • Email Subscribers = 161 (-1 from last week)
  • Google + = 30 (no change from last week)

January Blogging Income = $2,123 -  I still have one more day…here’s hoping.

Month-to-Date Traffic Results

  • 3,469 Visitors
  • 1:17 minutes per visit
  • Traffic from Search Engines = 65.23%
  • Traffic from Referring Sites = 17.93%
  • Traffic from Direct Visits = 14.93%
  • Traffic from Other = 1.90%

Blogging Goals

  • Increase earnings on Smart Wealth  blog to a consistent $250/month (Achieved, $450 already this month) Also, create Facebook account (My partner Evan created the account), and run its first giveaway in order to increase its presence (Working on this).
  • Create social media accounts, and setup Adsense for Crohnic Illness.  Increase traffic and find health related blogs to comment on, and/or guest post. (Commenting is happening, the rest is not)
  • Plan my one year giveaway and post on Money Is The Root.  Both my one year for blogging and Yakezie member (I wanted this to happen in January, looks like it will happen in February).
  • The number of client sites for which I run advertising has continued to increase each week, I have gained about 2 – 3 blogs each week for the past month.  Initially I wanted to keep this number low, but I find advertisers are more interested in working with one-stop shopping on a larger base of blogs.  Continue to seek and negotiate deals on a daily basis. (I now manage the advertising for 25 blogs and counting)
  • Reach earnings of $30,000 from all blogging related activites in 2012. (This is $2,500 per month average, I’m at $2,123 so far, can I do it?)
  • I want to announce that I have also created another site with a fellow Yakezie, which will soon be announced.  And I have bought another site, which is being finalized now, so that will be announced soon as well.  That will bring my total blogs I own/co-own to 5.  Life is going to be busy!

Have a great week everyone!

2012 should be a good year for online income if sources are to believed so even if you don’t make up the last $377 or whatever it is, I think you’ll be fine. Good work and thanks for the update.

Hi! This is the first time I have read your site and I really like it. THe posts are nice and easy to read, fun, and informative. I’m very new to blogging and got involved to help keep me accountable as I pay down my student loans, and I am TOTALLY AMAZED that bloggers make money.

I’m certainly going to take a good look at your site and your suggestions. (your blog is nice and clean!) Thanks for sharing the numbers and services you use!

I am with Marissa. Five sites is a lot in addition to all the other activities with advertising. My head spins with 2 sites.

I would lose my mind working on 5 different sites at the same time! Kudos to you if you can pull it off.

5 blogs and working full-time? I am in awe. How does your fiancee feel about this? I imagine there is a great deal of competition for your time with all of the online work. It would be great if she could work with you too.
